a matter of time

a matter of time explores the concept of spiral time.
Spiral time is the embodied understanding of time as non-linear, cyclical, and experienced through the continuous unfolding and overlapping of events. The exhibition draws from the Gallery’s permanent collection and includes artworks from across periods, art historical movements, and mediums that challenge imposed linearities within Western constructions of the past, present, and future.
a matter of time positions time as relational and as a measure of change. Expanding perceptions of worldbuilding and world-endings, the exhibition critiques the various belief systems that govern our daily lives, looking toward non-Western worldviews to regenerate ideas of memory, resurgence, and futurisms.
a matter of time proposes the radical potential for thinking against colonial time frames, and through spiral time—unpredictable, transformative, and fleeting.
